H2O Mechanics' major strength is mechanical design and the ability to manufacture. The company works across water treatment, commercial air filtration and specialized irrigation systems.
Max Air 2000
H2O Mechanics produced the Max Air 2000 over a two-year period. The unit is made of 5052-H32 aluminum and the filter chamber is hermetically sealed.

What separates the filter from others is the automatic clamping system actuated by closing the filter chamber door. The clamp action compresses the filter seal against a seamless metal lip, limiting alternate particle paths caused by pressure drop across the filter.
A low-leakage air valve regulates air velocity to the filter manufacturer's recommended flow rate. The Max Air system can maintain a set velocity until filter pressure loss indicates it is time to change filters. Every unit is tested for performance in the H2O Mechanics plant. Equipment is in service in the USA, Malaysia and Vietnam.
Frostline
In 2016 H2O Mechanics was contracted to design and build an irrigation system for pretreated septic effluent that would not freeze in cold, harsh winter climates.

Prototype testing began.
Several design improvements completed.
Systems in Geauga and surrounding Ohio counties.
Cold, harsh winter climates.
The system uses geothermal energy from the earth to keep the free piston from freezing. The design became H2O Mechanics' own patented product using the trade name “FROSTLINE.”

Drain Back Valve
Fully automatic HF-DBV high flow drain back valve for irrigation and sprinkler lines that need to drain completely so they do not freeze.

During severe cold weather it is necessary to drain distribution lines as fast as possible to eliminate freezing of components that could be damaged. The valve allows drain back to the tank once the pump cycle is completed and works with high-flow submersible pumps.
Mechanical Design
Ability to Manufacture.
At age 15 (1969), Chris Hansen had a job at Capricia Creations in the Newbury Industrial Park, grinding edges off plastic products. In 1977 he joined Kinetico Incorporated and spent 33 years there.
While at Kinetico, he earned an Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Kent State School of Technology. He left Kinetico in 2009 and started his own consulting company, focused on water-treatment and recycling projects.
H2O Mechanics moved into the Newbury Business Park in 2010 and expanded again in 2012 to support the development and manufacturing of air filtration systems. The shop includes a mill, lathe, tow-motor, table saws, surface grinder, 3D printer and equipment for building prototypes.
H2O Mechanics is a mechanical design company working in clean-room air filtration and residential and commercial water treatment. Frostline development began in 2016. Chris also works with independent contractors including a CAD designer, installation technician and metal fabricator.
